It all started with a fishing trip.

1% for the Planet originated along the banks of the Madison River when two longtime friends and successful businessmen went for a fishing trip in 2001.

Much of what we love is connected to nature.
And the time we spend in it is, in many ways, time borrowed from the environment around us.

To keep doing the things we love, the places that make those experiences possible must also be able to endure. That is why LIB believes it is just as important to care for the natural world that holds these experiences as it is to talk about the things we love.

Through our products and activities, LIB intends to contribute a portion of its proceeds to efforts that support the natural environment. What we can do may be small. But we believe that when small choices are repeated, and those choices become a way of thinking and acting, they can begin to create a different direction.

With this belief, LIB supports the mission of 1% for the Planet.

So that we can keep loving the things we love for a long time, we also care for the environment that makes those moments possible.
